The Program Director II is responsible for overseeing the daily operations, administration, and growth of the YMCA’s Preschool, Character Builder, and Child Watch programs. This role ensures a high-quality, developmentally appropriate early childhood education program that aligns with YMCA values, licensing regulations, and best practices in child development. The Program Director II will lead staff, manage budgets, engage families, and foster a nurturing environment that supports the holistic development of young children. This position oversees two Licensed Childcare Programs with currently four program sites operating and the Child Watch department. The three Character Builders sites serve elementary age students with before and afterschool care, Preschool offers full day care for ages 2 - 5 years old, with efforts being made to offer toddler care and potentially expand to new locations. The Child Watch Department is a non-licensed member benefit daycare service, for ages 6 weeks - 12 years old that are offered to members while utilizing facility amenities.
