The Mental Health Therapist provides direct therapeutic services including assessments, individual, group and crisis counseling to current and past participants. This position assists in program development and operation while ensuring eligibility and program outcomes. The Mental Health Therapist is responsible for applying an intersectional, anti-racist, and equity lens to our work that lifts up and centers Black, Indigenous, People of Color, non-binary, and trans, and LGBTQ+ communities and youth.

PROGRAM SUMMARY:
The SDUSD Counseling Program provides outpatient mental health services to San Diego Unified School District students and their families attending designated schools. The program focuses on providing brief therapy models, such as solution focused brief therapy, with students and families. Services provide a strength-based focus on resilience and encompass a range of mental health services as required by the needs of the designed student population. Services may include mental health assessments and evaluation, individual/group/family therapy, plan development, collateral services, and case management.
