Overview

The Compensation Analyst is responsible for supporting the design, implementation, and administration of the organization’s compensation programs. This Analyst conducts market research, job evaluations, and pay analyses to ensure competitive, equitable, and compliant pay practices. The Analyst partners with HR and business leaders to provide data-driven insights, support job description development, and ensure compensation programs align with organizational goals, internal equity, and federal and state regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct market pricing and benchmarking analyses to assess the competitiveness of compensation programs
  • Perform job evaluations and recommend appropriate classifications, salary ranges, and pay grades
  • Analyze internal equity and prepare salary adjustment recommendations
  • Support annual compensation processes, including merit increases, promotions, and incentive programs
  • Maintain compensation data, tools, and systems to ensure accuracy and consistency
  • Assist in the design, documentation, and communication of compensation policies and procedures
  • Partner with HR business Partners and managers to provide compensation guidance and support workforce planning
  • Ensure compensation practices comply with organizational polices, state and federal laws, and regulations
  • Respond to and resolve compensation inquiries, providing guidance and clarification to employees, managers, and HR partners
  • Support participation in salary surveys by gathering, reviewing, and submitting compensation data to endure accurate benchmarking
  • Provide supervision, guidance, and coaching to staff, fostering skill development, accountability, and professional growth
  • Other duties as assigned 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required
  • 5+ years' experience in Compensation, HR Analytics, or related field required
  • CCP certification or working toward CCP certification preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel with the ability to create complex spreadsheets, specifically vLookups
  • Knowledge of compensation practices, job evaluation methodologies, and relevant laws/regulations (e.g., FLSA, EEO)
  • Licensing, state law and our government funders require that staff within YMCA of San Diego County be fingerprinted, prior to reporting to work, and include subsequent arrest notifications 
  • CPR/AED, and First Aid Certification, must include Adult and Child/Infant, obtained within 30 days of hire and must be from one of the following certifying organizations: 
    • American Red Cross 
    • American Heart Association 
    • American Safety & Health Institute

Pay Range

USD $82,365.08 - USD $98,838.09 /Yr.
