The Peer Partner Program intends to engage youth and caregivers more fully in their child welfare case planning and services process; provide information to parents to help them navigate the child welfare system and understand their rights and responsibilities; and provide support, modeling, and linkage to assist families in meeting their safety, permanency, and well-being goals. The program helps empower youth and families and ensures they have voice and choice in service delivery.
The Support Specialist (Parent Partner) will provide support and connect families involved with Child and Family Well-Being (CFWB) to social services and other resources that enhance overall well-being with explicit focus on partnering with parents as experts in their own experiences and wellness outcomes. This role will work collaboratively with the CFWB Department and CASEY Family Program (CFP) San Diego Field Office to promote safety and help keep families intact by supporting reunification and guiding families through CFWB engagement processes. The Support Specialist is responsible for applying an intersectional, anti-racist, and equity-driven lens that centers Black, Indigenous, People of Color, non-binary, and trans, and LGBTQ+ youth and communities.
