Overview

The YMCA of San Diego County is hiring a Senior Data Analyst to lead advanced analysis, reporting, and business intelligence efforts that strengthen programs, membership, and organizational outcomes. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining data models, dashboards, and reports, applying predictive analytics, and promoting data governance and quality standards. Working closely with Member Experience, IT, and analytics teams, the Senior Data Analyst provides actionable insights that drive strategic decision-making across the Association.

Schedule

  • Location: Assoication Office 
  • Monday - Friday 8:00AM - 5:00PM 

 

Responsibilities

  • Lead and complete complex, multiple data analytics projects while ensuring accurate data collection, cleaning, transformation, and analysis. Document methods and assumptions and provide clear reporting and training to support staff understanding and decision making
  • Partner with IT to ensure optimized data collection, analysis, reporting, data integrity, and accuracy by maintaining high standards of data hygiene for reliable reporting. Identify issues that may negatively impact data integrity
  • Conduct data analysis of key metrics, along with developing data visualizations to support Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) and evidence-based decision making
  • Maintain comprehensive data management systems and reports that meet business requirements, track metrics, measure outcome data, and support evidence-informed decision making. These are completed by integrating business and technology resources
  • Engage and coordinate with program subject matter experts to gain insights into the program being evaluated
  • Perform data analysis and the application of descriptive statistics and dashboards used in operationalizing KPIs and assessing program effectiveness
  • Support data governance by maintaining data records and documenting processes in data collection and changes
  • Serves as a liaison with key departments to ensure collaboration on data and reporting needs. Works closely with the CRS analytics teams and the IT department
  • Participate in and attend all required staff meetings, training, YMCA staff development events, and appropriate agency-wide committees
  • Strong technical skills in Salesforce data analysis and reporting

  • Demonstrated ability to design and maintain data models

  • Proficiency with BI and visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI), SQL, and advanced Excel

  • Knowledge of data governance practices, data quality management, and KPI development

  • Basic understanding of relational databases

  • Competent at learning new technologies and systems, self-starter, and able to work independently

  • Possess a high degree of integrity, flexibility, and initiative

  • Strong attention to detail, troubleshooting, and analytical skills

  • Ability to successfully work with various levels of team members

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to translate complex system/data issues using non-technical terms

Qualifications

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Analytics, Statistics, or related field
  • 6+ years’ related experience in data modeling, data analysis, reporting, or business intelligence with full responsibility for the following:
    • Advanced Salesforce data analysis and reporting including Salesforce Data Cloud, CRM Analytics (Einstein Analytics), and Einstein AI tools for predictive modeling and automated insights. Salesforce Flows, metadata-driven processes, and nonprofit/membership-based data models
    • Data processing and visualization (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, data queries such as SQL, advanced Excel) and data governance, data quality management, and Key Performance Indicator (KPI) development
  • Licensing, state law and our government funders require that staff within YMCA of San Diego County be fingerprinted, prior to reporting to work, and include subsequent arrest notifications 
  • CPR/AED, and First Aid Certification, must include Adult and Child/Infant, obtained within 30 days of hire and must be from one of the following certifying organizations:
    • American Red Cross
    • American Heart Association
    • American Safety & Health Institute

Pay Range

USD $39.60 - USD $47.52 /Hr.
