Overview

The Massage Therapist administers massage therapy and provides quality customer service to clients. This therapist creates an enjoyable atmosphere that promotes member wellness in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Provides therapeutic human touch to members and participants 
  • Create a comfortable and professional environment for members and participants  
  • Maintains equipment in good working condition and performs housekeeping duties to keep massage area clean 
  • Obtains and maintains required certification and proper licensing related to massage therapy 
  • Provides courteous, prompt, and sincere attention to all members and participants 
  • Respond to and communicates, member concerns, and feedback in a timely manner 
  • Follow and enforce appointment schedule and cancellation policy 
  • Excellent customer service skills 
  • Enthusiastic about working as part of a team 
  • Effective communication skills 
  • Other duties as assigned  

Qualifications

  • 1+ year’s of Massage experience required 
  • State Board Certification (CAMTC) or local Massage Therapy License required 
  • Ability to perform all physical aspects of the position including walking, standing, bending, reaching and lifting up to 50 pounds at a time 
  • Licensing, state law and our government funders require that staff within YMCA of San Diego County be fingerprinted, prior to reporting to work, and include subsequent arrest notifications 
  • CPR/AED, and First Aid Certification, must include Adult and Child/Infant, obtained within 30 days of hire and must be from one of the following certifying organizations: 
    • American Red Cross 
    • American Heart Association 
    • American Safety & Health Institute

Pay Range

USD $26.04 - USD $31.24 /Hr.
